With more than 20 years’ experience helping lead major companies and developing government policy, Andy advises leaders on building their businesses, navigating complex public issues, and managing crises.
Prior to joining Penta in 2023, Andy founded Copperfield Advisory as a consulting firm to serve founder-led, owner-run businesses.
Before Copperfield, Andy was the most senior communications professional in three multinational companies—IBM, where he led a team of 600 professionals; Willis Group, where he played a central part in the $18 billion merger of Willis and Towers Watson; and McKinsey & Company.
Prior to McKinsey, Andy was a U.K. government policymaker, leading teams in the Prime Minister’s Social Exclusion Unit, the Deputy Prime Minister’s office, and the Department of Health.
Andy is also a professor at Columbia University, where he teaches political communications and crisis management. He has served on numerous non-profit boards, including Broadway for All (a 2022 Tony Award winner) and the Harlem-based Reading Team. He was an assistant producer on a GRAMMY-winning Latin jazz album.
Andy is a graduate of Oxford and Harvard. In 2012, he received the Distinguished Friend of Oxford University award.
