Biography

Maria Cryan is a partner in Penta’s international strategy practice, based in Dublin, Ireland. She has led Hume Brophy’s Irish business for 13 years, and has over 20 years of experience in public affairs and corporate campaigns in Ireland, the UK, France and other European markets. Her expertise lies in managing campaigns for clients in the financial services, agri-food, energy, sustainability, technology, and healthcare sectors. She brings this experience to Penta clients, advising them on all elements of strategy and campaigns. 

Maria joined Hume Brophy in 2010 having worked for both Dublin and London-based communications’ agencies. Prior to that, she worked as a public sector consultant on projects for the UK Ministry of Justice and HM Revenue & Customs with Accenture Consulting. She also spent two years working in Paris as Irish Government Attaché to UNESCO and the OECD, and as an Analyst at the OECD in the Environment and Development Directorates.

Maria has a B.A. in History and Politics and a M.A. in European Studies, both from University College, Dublin. She also has a diploma in International Political and Social Sciences from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques (‘Sciences Po’) in Paris.
